Residents to help African children

Ambassadors in Sport partners with Lee Sharpe for 24-hour football event

Lee Sharpe, former Manchester United midfielder, will be joining Ambassadors in Sport of Omnibus on 5th September for a 24-hour football marathon.

The event, called Match for a Day, will be held at 12 p.m. at The David Beckham Academy in Greenwich and will take on the Busworks team head-to-head against 24 different teams for 50 minutes each.

"We're hoping to raise about £20,000," said Matt Oliver, director of Ambassadors in Sport. "We're trying to earn enough money to help at-risk children through a fun game of football."

The minimum donation for all teams is £300. All money raised from the event will go towards helping children and the homeless in the UK and South Africa.

"This will be a great way for Busworks residents to get involved," Matt said. "We just want people to come out, have a bit of fun and assist in our mission to help kids in need."

All teams are welcome to stay after the event for sandwiches and beer with Lee.

Ambassadors in Sport is a charity organisation dedicated to bringing hope through football. Residents interested in the event should contact the team at mfad@ais-uk.org.
