Pleasance to host Oscars hero

The Pleasance could play host to Hollywood’s finest if Oscars winner David Seidler gets his way.

Seidler, fresh from picking up the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay with The King’s Speech last week, is in talks with the Pleasance Theatre to launch his latest masterpiece at the theatre.

The new project, a biopic of Wind in the Willows author Kenneth
Graheme, is believed to have a number of Hollywood A-list
actors vying for its leading roles.

The Pleasance also featured in last week’s Oscars ceremony, with
director Tom Hooper alluding to the fact that his mother first saw a reading of The King’s Speech in its early days at the theatre.
