Referendum debate to be held at the Busworks
A debate on one of the most important political decisions for a generation, whether or not Britain should embrace the Alternative Vote system, will be held at the Pleasance Theatre on Thursday, April 7.
The Independent Network (IN), run from the Parker, Wayne & Kent
office, is hosting the debate on Britain’s second ever referendum.
Campaigners from the ‘Yes’ and ‘No’ camps will contend their stand, gearing people up for the
opportunity to make a profound, positive impact on UK politics come the time to vote in May.
Guests will include former BBC foreign affairs correspondent and Independent MP Martin Bell OBE, and inspirational independent local election campaigners.
Tamsin Omond, national coordinator of IN, said: “In a referendum every single vote counts. This is one of the most
important votes you’ll make and now is the time when we need to exercise our critical
judgement.”
Busworkers are invited to attend the IN debate and have their say on the future of British politics for a small donation of £5. Call 0207 609 1900 or visit www.independentnetwork.org.uk to attend.
